A makeup artist on her journey to debt freedom!

May Money Moves – Week 1

I hope everyone’s weekend was full of sunshine and rainbows!  This was the first weekend that we haven’t got rain since mid-March.  While I missed the best parts of it thanks to my foot, I was able to get out the house on Friday where my team at work did some volunteering for a gala.  Note to self:  Sit down.  I kind of made my foot angry so I recovered all weekend.  If you ever get a walking boot, remember it doesn’t mean you’re back in action.  Anyhow!  We’ve got some pretty big fish to fry today!  Let’s talk about the Money Moves I made.  Grab a delectable snack and something thirst quenching to drink and we’ll get started!

Something to keep in mind, I have pivoted and will be working on paying down my personal loan for the next 2.5 months.  If I decided against that, I’d be paying an ungodly amount of interest.  Let’s take a look at my progress for the week:

As you can see, I paid A LOT in interest.  The plan was originally to resume paying down the personal loan sooner but TMJ kind of got the best of my plan regarding what got paid down first.  I knew I needed to pay down the personal loan because the last payment I made was in December 2022 which is why the interest payment was so high.  It won’t be this high when I make the next payment nor when I stop and resume payments again. 😊 I did make one final payment to Care Credit of $15 that has 0% APR and that still did something for the balance so I can’t complain.

Now that I got the explanations out of the way, I’ll share what my totals are looking like this week for debt:

I’m very happy with where things have gone for this week.  I’m about to be back out of the $26k mark with my debt and again…this will be the last time.  I anything that’s unexpected I will not count towards this.

Pro-Makeup Artist Tip:

Just like with debt, you don’t want to overdo it with mascara.  While definition is key with lashes, applying to much can cause lashes to clump together and look less hair-like.  To make your lashes pop do the eye look of your choice, then lightly line the skin just below your lashes carefully and then line your lash liner, and apply an eyelash primer for added length and volume before applying your mascara.  A little love to your lashes makes all the difference in the world if you aren’t applying falsies.

That’s all I have for today!  This will be the only post I make for this week but I’ll be back next week with another episode of Money Moves Monday. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to see more content from me.

Until Next Time!
