Things are going smooth so far and I’m on guard. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop because I’ve run into so many issues. I just remembered that in October I’ll have to tell my financial advisor (yes, I have a financial advisor) that I paid over $6k for medical care, bought a new car on the last day of July, and stopped contributing to my 401k again last year after a few months of contributions. This is gonna be sooooo much fun. But enough about the madness, I have updates for my budget to share! So grab that snack I lovingly always suggest and something to drink and we’ll get started!
After this past paycheck, I can tell you, I CANNOT WAIT for debt freedom. This month was somewhat a taste of what life would be like without debt. I still have to think about what I’m going to do with my money because the last thing I want to do is save endlessly. We want to save a set amount for a goal, invest, etc. I probably will just contribute 10% to my 401k…I don’t know…but I’m rambling:

Let’s start with my income for this paycheck. The first thing is I received $109 for the storage, a whopping $64.38 in credit card rewards (I’m very proud of this number), I was able to cash in a bit quicker for Ibotta at $23.61, and I did a favor for a friend and received $50 and that’s how I got more in other income than I normally do. Things have been seeming higher than normal and I’m okay with it anytime it comes to my income. Next for my bills, everything went as planned there I paid $88.24 for Verizon, I will be paying $98.80 for Duke Energy, $216.50 for Extra Storage, and $256 for my HOA as I’ve anticipated. My variable spending on the other hand has went a little nuts but I like cashews ever so often. Yes…the cheesy jokes are in full effect, LOL! I budgeted $14 for LGFCU and paid $11, budgeted $200 for food and paid $152.88, budgeted $75 for gas and paid $66.97, last I budgeted $100 for miscellaneous spending and went a bit over budget spending $138.46. May this paycheck be kinder. For my savings, I put $100 to Savings, and $79 to my sinking funds and $.74 to my cushion. Then my favorite part and yours…I paid $836 towards debt! This paycheck was GLORIOUS!
Let’s chat about my plans for my upcoming paycheck:

So! First and foremost I got paid on Wednesday. 😊 Second…it was a whole penny short of my budgeted amount. Next, Spotify increased their charges by $1 and with tax, my bill went up $1.09. Nothing ground breaking that I can’t handle. Next, I got my amount for Guardian (my water bill) and I was under budget for it. With my variable spending, everything is as planned with the exception of LGFCU. I’ll be paying $13 instead of the normally quoted $14, but we’ll see. Savings is the final thing I need to talk about. I made the decision to increase my sinking funds to $100 for now…I have my new amount for taxes for my car and I was going to wing it next year but I feel safer giving it real effort. Especially considering my first tax bill will be $311 which is close to $150 more than what I was paying for my Rogue. Last, I expect to pay a total of $530 in debt but we’ll see how things go with the interest I’ll get with my accounts and anything I may or may not have left over in my budget.
I do plan on going to the beach on Friday sooooooo…I may pay extra in a few categories and I may not have a whole bunch left over but it won’t be the end of the world.
Pro-Makeup Artist/Licensed Esthetician Tip
The elements are not always your friend. Along with protecting your skin from the sun, wind, cold, and excessive heat can cause changes that aren’t always desirable. Remember sunscreen and a hat for the sun, moisturize like crazy for the wind, and protect your skin from the cold with layering and a scarf of a very soft material so it doesn’t cause chaffing.
