A makeup artist on her journey to debt freedom!

Money Moves – January Week 2

Hi! Soooooo…I had absolutely nothing to report last week.  I knew it would likely happen.  I still have a recap of 2023 to show my catastrophe of a year and one day when things get a little less hectic I’ll get all the details together. 😊 Thankfully, it has been hectic in a normal, hustle and bustle kind of way.  I spent my 3-day weekend clearing bins of papers because…they’ve been sitting for years and I’ve been putting it off.  I have about 3 bins and got through 2 over the past week and I polished it off on Sunday which felt great.  I’m still working on getting things together post-repairs and the first line of business was to get rid of the clutter so I’m well on my way but that’s about all I can do for the next few weeks because I’ll be doing makeup for an indie film this coming weekend and I’m headed on a cruise the following weekend.  I’ll get to revisit this in February.  So!  It’s that time to get yourself something to drink and something to eat so we can talk about this insanity that is my finances. Let’s get started!

Here are the details for paying off my debt for this week:

All I did was put money towards my Home Depot credit card but the balance is going down!  For now, I’m paying down the balance associated with buying a new fridge before they started the repairs.  The fridge was old…it leaked…it had to go.  Once that balance is paid down, I’m going right back to paying down my Shop Your Way credit card and that will occur in the beginning of February.  Fingers crossed everything goes well!

Here are my debt totals as of the end of last week:

I’m still bummed about having such a high balance but I’ll have everything with the exception of my car paid off by sometime in 2025.  Also…by the end of the month, I should be back below the $50k mark.

Pro-Makeup Artist Tip:

I previously spoke about primers.  Sometimes if you’re like me…you run out of them before you have the opportunity to run to the store.  If it’s your eyelid primer you don’t have, lay down a light layer of your face primer and put a healthy dose of concealer on your lids to seal the deal.  Top off with a skin-toned eyeshadow or powder.  If it’s your facial primer you’re missing, use your setting powder or spray and it will get the job done temporarily.

That’s all I have for today!  Don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe to see more content from me and to share my page with someone who you think may benefit from the makeup tips or financial advice.

Until Next Time!
