Not only have we started a new month but I also got paid today! For my April 5th paycheck, I’ll be letting you know how I plan on spending my money for the next 2 weeks. Don’t forget to grab yourself snack and something to drink!
When it comes to what’s going to happen for my April 5th paycheck, the breakdown is as follows:

I’ll receive extra money and this won’t be the final figure. This far into the new month, I normally have the actual figures for my electricity, water, and phone bill. A couple of things about my bills.
- My water bill is higher than normal. The reason for this is because my HOA required us to collect the data from the transmitter that keeps track of how much water I used to make sure it was associated with the appropriate unit. I found out about this, right after I broke my foot. It was behind my makeup kit so I had a ton of stuff to move…on a broke foot. I was a sweaty mess once it was done. The meter is normally read on the 1st day of the new month, my bill wasn’t cut until the 27th. One of two things could happen. The payment date may be adjusted to pay closer to the end of the month or I will have an insanely low bill for May.
- Yes…my HOA fee is every month and it is high. But, I can afford it and it comes with perks though.
- I don’t have to mow the loan (BEST PERK EVER)
- It includes pest control
- Quarterly termite inspections
- Semi-Annual inspection of the sprinkler system
- Free cable including Starz
- Free Wi-Fi! This is the second best perk. It’s great Wi-Fi too and I was initially paying for Wi-Fi when I first moved here.
Since I was $16.04 under budget for my electricity and phone bill, that helped make up for the difference for my water bill. So straight to debt the excess goes. It’s only $7 but that’s better than nothing.
The insurance saga continues. For the timeline, I sent a second claim for TMJ on 1/14/2023. In early February, I was told the claim was approved and would take 30 business days to complete processing. That took us to March 15th, 2023. And that’s when I started raising hell and the claim has been in limbo ever since. Last night, I found out something very interesting. I got another message from the very incompetent people who kept saying a portion of the claim was not submitted correctly. I found that the portion they denied WAS submitted correctly but the rest was not thanks to the information I was provided by my dentist. I didn’t call the supervisor back on Tuesday because…work…but I’ll try to contact them again today. Even though I didn’t have the correct info from my dentist I’m still extremely pissed at the fact that my insurance company waited so long to let me know what’s going on. And they’re still “figuring things out”.
They really just don’t want to pay me. I looked to see what would happen if I re-sent everything and that put the processing completion date in mid-June if they just do what they’re supposed to and a check date at the end of June. But we know these people are sneaky.
With this being the case, it’s looking like I’ll be scheduling a payment for my Care Credit Credit Card to be paid this Friday. That is unless the insurance company says something different. Catch is…work…my last call in took close to an hour. I cannot wait to get this behind me. I swear I’m going to do a happy dance when this check comes in the mail. But enough with the insurance madness!
I’ll still be breaking up the debt payments to be paid every Friday. Any extra money I get, I deposit to my Money Market. Anything I have left over from my budget goes to debt. I’m really looking forward to this month!
It’s also my birthday on the 14th, so I’ll be welcoming my 37th year. You’ll hear from me again before then so…until next time!
