Pay day is approaching and I’ll be closing out my budget that started 3/22/2023! I stated before I budget each time I get a paycheck and I get paid every two weeks. The month to month budgeting was just too much for how my brain worked and this has been so helpful when it comes to my journey. As of now, I’ve done all the hard parts. I’ve tracked my expenses, I’ve spent my money…it’s always so sad to see it go…, and now I’m ready to make new memories with my brand new paycheck. As always, make sure you have a snack and something to drink and we’ll get started!
Here are the close out numbers for the paycheck from 3/22/2023 ending 4/4/2023:

The best news is I didn’t bust out of my budget like I was breaking out of prison. This is all thanks to having a broke foot. There’s always a brighter side, right? I do visit restaurants once during the weekend when I’m able to leave my home and get more fresh air than what’s coming through the screen door on my balcony.
A few things I’ve done over the past two weeks:
- Made an extra debt payment of $5
- Concocted a plan for Care Credit
- Updated my paycheck tracker to include an actual field
- Gave my paycheck tracker a little razzle dazzle
While closing out my budget I was able to extract an extra debt payment of $5 to apply towards my Shop Your Way Credit Card. That brings the new balance to $4,100. With this new plan I’ve concocted for Care Credit, it has taken my Shop Your Way Credit Card out of the number one spot for debt payoff, and I’m focusing on Care Credit. The reason for this is because the promotional period for Care Credit ends in September and it’s one of those bills I just want out of the way. The next due date for my Shop Your Way Credit Card is 11/1/2023. Level of importance is key and time says hit Care Credit until I know what’s up. I’m still waiting to contact my insurance company to find out what is going on. If things go as planned, I won’t make any changes. I’ll just have to wait for them to pay me. (insert eye roll)
As for updating my paycheck tracker, I used to just type the correct figures into the fields for my paycheck tracker when I got the actual balances for bills. If you haven’t noticed by now, I like math and I like things to make sense. The update is still in the making but it’ll help with the visuals. I have the rest of 2023, all of 2024, and 2025 to modify. Yay me…
Speaking of visuals, I decided to give a little visual interest to the pay check tracker because the white and black is boring and harsh on the eyes. Trust me…it hurts my eyes a little less too.
Well that’s it for now! I tried to keep it short and sweet but it’s also super important to wrap up March. When you start a budget, you have to close it out to see where you landed. It all works together for the greater good.
Stay tuned for my budgeting plans for April!
