Hi, hello, and Happy Earth Day!
It’s only been almost… 2 years since I’ve decided to abandon my blog…that I pay for…every year. It’s truly a face palm moment and I think it’s time we should talk about it a bit.
So! Last when I left off, I had just received unfortunate medical news and I had finally cashed in on the settlement I was waiting YEARS for, and I had my 20-yr high school reunion. That summer and beyond, life took a few awkward turns and this is a quick snippet of what the last two years looked like:
- I spent a lot of time in bed during the weekends because the weekdays took everything that I had in me. I had to wait for the biologics to kick in. It was brutal.
- I caught up on politics because it was 2024 and we had an election coming up. I had to make sure I hated that orange piece of trash for the right reasons…I was right. I’ve been in a sense of impending doom since July 2024, sadly.
- I found out I was pre-diabetic and started a weight loss journey. I had gotten pretty heavy and all together I dropped 30 lbs that I’m fighting for my life to keep off.
- Decided I didn’t want kids.
- Decided I don’t want to get married.
- I totally abandoned my budget on a few occasions.
- Celebrated my grandmother’s 90th birthday!
- Celebrated one of my best friend’s 40th birthday in DR again…only this time I didn’t return and break my foot.
- Failed my first Biologic.
- Celebrated my 39th birthday.
- Started working on paying down my medical debt (I paid it off in January 2026!)
- I failed the second Biologic (I’m on my 3rd and it’s not going well)
- Cut my hair short.
- Picked up my stress shopping habit I dropped off years ago (and I’m still trying to put it back down).
- Picked my budget back up.
- Got sick 4 times, June, July, and December 2x!
- Celebrated one of my best friend’s dad’s 80th birthday (I decorated)
- And I very recently turned 40!
I look relatively young and I’m still trying to gather what being 40 looks like and means for me but I did celebrate by going to a spa and getting a Korean Body Scrub. If you haven’t tried it…YOU’RE MISSING OUT. It was a good birthday overall and I really enjoyed my time off from work to decompress.
I’m also in the process of getting jaw surgery. If you go back to one of my initial posts, I talked about my jaw locking. Well…turns out I have TMJD because my lower jaw is recessed because I sucked my thumb until I turned 14. The braces I got straightened my teeth but did nothing to address my sad sad jaw and made it worse. Now, I have a narrow airway from having teeth pulled, I have TMJD, and it’s likely I have had sleep apnea for a while.
This all would be so exciting…if I had all my debt paid off but I’m practically in the same spot I left you all in because I made several large purchases since I last posted (including my recent birthday), and I’m kind of holding on to my cash.
I have some numbers for what my moneys look like as of March 2026.
Current Net Worth:

The main reason why my net worth is lower is because the housing market is struggling hard. In my last post my condo was worth $232k and it’s value has really plummeted. Although my debt per se isn’t down, the amount of debts I had has been reduced significantly. I’ve been really working on paying down the HELOC. It’s likely the balance will stay around this amount because I just took a big chunk out to do my previous year contribution for my HSA. I’ll get there but it’s been moving in slow motion. I have one more paycheck for this month and I have been adding $500 a month to my HELOC to focus on paying it down. Hopefully once it’s all said and done I’ll be below $19k at the end of April. Sigh…
That’s all I have for now, I’m going to do my best to not abandon this place again. I no longer have the typical weekly updates but we can discuss where I am at the end of each week.
Pro Makeup Artist Tip:
I currently take Cosentyx for my autoimmune illnesses and it has been BRUTAL on my skin when I started with the loading dose. Now that I’m no longer in that stage, my skin is more combination than oily. The one and only thing I can say…is MOISTURIZE! Even it means doing it more than just during your routine. I still struggle a bit with my skin texture on my face and when it’s really bad, I use the Intensive Moisture Hydrocortisone because it focuses on eczema and psoriasis. If you are dealing with these conditions, PLEASE see a doctor to find out what’s going on if you can. With that not always reasonable, try to take care of yourself in the best way possible.
