I can’t help but say how Benjamin Franklin has the judgiest face ever. So, fingers crossed…I’m back on track with posts but I can’t make any promises. I hope you all had a great weekend! I had yet another incident and I think the second toe on my left foot is broke, I have a pretty gnarly scuff on my left knee, and I may have sprained my right thigh. How? You might ask? I like a genius, jumped off the second step of a stepstool while still recovering from breaking my foot in March. I’m super graceful. Sigh…when I hit the ground, I banged up my left 2nd toe first, then it felt a little like my right hip was going to dislocate, so down I went and my left knee hit the very hard floor. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to attend an event on Saturday because I could barely stand because of my right leg. I feel a very sharp pain a few inches above my knee but it all worked out on Saturday with minimal pain. Sunday, I rested more than cleaned like I hoped too but I feel a lot better but I’m being cautious. I actually started sorting through old papers! Paper is the bane of my existence and it keeps showing up in my house. I’m not a fan unless I can easily organize it but tis life. So! I have so many things to share today but we’ll stick to the typical format. Be sure that you have your drink and summer friendly snack and we’ll get started!
I did indeed make a little dent in my debt:

This week was so much better than last week and I’ll tell you the reason why momentarily but I have officially started on a new debt! That payment to my Coastal-PL was the last payment I’ll be making until my Care Credit and Shop Your Way credit cards are paid off. My personal loan is paid through February 2024 and I’ll get back to paying it down a couple of months before it’s due again.
Here’s what my debt is looking like:

I made a bit of a boo boo in last week’s Money Moves Monday post. Y’all know I’m a numbers nerd but I absolutely forgot to take in account that my Nissan Rogue was paid off on 8/2/2023, the day after I sold that old moldy gal. So that loan amount you saw last week should’ve been nearly $6k less for other debt. I may change it one day, but for now it’ll be a reminder of how hectic my life was for the second half of July. I actually drove my rogue about 10 miles with no plates/tags…yikes…but it was still on my insurance policy just in case something happened. I just couldn’t drive two cars at the same time. What can I say? I’m only one person. My debt when I reported it last week should’ve showed $6,699 credit card debt and $36,835.58 for the rest of my debt. The number is higher for this post because I drew $1,950 from my HELOC (home equity line of credit) to help pay for my expenses for my car at the end of July as well as take care of an charge I had that I paid for a few months early. The money to pay down this loan will be coming from my Money Market for now and I have already put a plan in place to get it paid down by next June.
Other than that, new car life is legit! It’s been all over America and because I had a crazy week last two weeks since I first got my new car and I’ll have to fill my car up again today. When I first got the car, it had 19,347 miles, now I’m over 20,000. Over 600 miles in two weeks is not something I do unless I go on a road trip…which I did, 163 miles each way. I’m really hoping the coming days will be more in my norm than last week and the week before was because…yikes. With the craziness I’ve dealt with, I’ll really have to beef up my gas budget and I don’t want too. So for now…the budget will stay at $75 every two weeks. One day things will go smoothly for me and I cannot wait!
Pro-Makeup Artist Tip:
I’m totally pro-lashes for big events and I feel naked when I have something huge going on and pictures will be taken and all I have are my lashes which are pretty decent. However, others may not see their importance. Lashes are important because they give your eyes depth especially when a camera will be involved. Without them beautiful eyes can look tired or weighed down. The best thing would be to practice before a big event or allow a friendly and proficient makeup artist to help make your face up for your major occasions where a camera will be involved. 😊
